Our super-equipped repair shop
We have been repairing audio electronic equipment since 1973, when most TV's still had tubes! We perform quality work on guitar and bass amplifiers, PA equipment and VINTAGE STEREO equipment. Most music stores DON'T have their own in-house electronics technician, but rather, a guy or two who picks up your item, repairs it, then brings it back to the store. If there is a problem when you get it back, then it's another game of "catch me if you can". At FONE MUSIC, we do everything in-house. You can see from the above picture that we have all necessary test equipment to return your electronic item to perfect performance and return all internal adjustments to factory spec...or better! We are so confident (and have such a solid repair history) that we are able to guarantee our work for the LIFE OF THE UNIT!
Since we get mostly guitars, we'll talk about them! Very few guitars come from the factory already set up to the individual player's needs. Most rock players prefer very low string action, while some blues and country performers like a little more resistance, with no fret buzz at all or noise of any kind. Lowering string action can reduce volume somewhat on acoustic instruments, but most players seem to choose better playability over volume, especially if his/her guitar is equipped with a pickup. In almost all cases, we can dramatically improve the playability of your instrument. We use only the highest quality materials for bridge saddles and nuts, the two most important things to good, solid tone. Many shops use plastic, which does not have the sustain and tone of bone, brass or graphite. From a loose wire to complete refretting, we have the experience, tools and fixtures to make your instrument play like a DREAM!
