1. It's easy to contact me via E-mail. Throughout this site, simply look for the bright
green rectangles. I try to have it in several places on each page, and you can find it
quickly by scrolling through the page and looking for my bright green E-mail box:

2. Feel free to E-mail me about anything, if it's easier than navigating through the site!
3. Styrofoam peanuts carry a HUGE amount of static, which can cause future failures
in electronic circuits. I DO NOT ACCEPT JOBS PACKED IN STYROFOAM PEANUTS.
4. DO NOT jam your unit into a flat rate shipping box to save money! There MUST be
at least 4 INCHES of padding between the sides of the box and the front panel. Items
with damage from careless packing will NOT be repaired. They will be sent back with
a refund MINUS return shipping costs AND a $50 fee for wasting my time. In most
cases, CARELESS PACKING BENDS CONTROLS THAT ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
5. I work a full time job (also in electronics) and cannot take phone calls during the
day, but I still need to wear it in case of a family emergency. For this reason, I can
only give you my phone number if I have had your item here for more than 2 months,
in which case I can understand your needing to be able to reach me directly. E-mail
is my preferred method of contact, and I promise to reply within 10 hours every time.
6. In some cases, I can repair more things than I have listed above - just ask!
7. I do not advertise locally or accept walk-in business; my shop is also my home.
8. Unless you live at "The UPS Store", please write your name somewhere on your
package. This is so I can quickly check if your item has arrived for repair. If your
name is not visible on the outside, I CANNOT ANSWER STATUS INQUIRIES.
9. Please tape your name, address, E-mail address and phone number to the bottom
of your unit, which allows me to immediately pack and address your unit for shipment,
as well as being able to reach you in case of any concerns. Many customers provide
inadequate or sloppily written contact information, so it's nice to have this information
two or three times. A printed version is extremely helpful.
10. Yes, I deposit your check as soon as your unit arrives - but it could be 6 more
weeks before I can get your unit on my bench. This HAS caused some concern with
a few understandably skeptical customers, but rest assured that your unit is being
addressed, and that you WILL receive either your unit repaired or a full refund minus
return shipping cost. All refund requests require UP TO FOUR WEEKS to process.
It must be understood upfront that, unless previously agreed on (which means a
substantial "expedite" fee), my turnaround is about 8 weeks, or 2 months. I'm being
very clear about this upfront. Thus, I generally don't answer "progress report"
inquiries unless I've had your unit longer than 8 weeks. And being a one-man shop
with a full time job, my response to pressure or threats is the path of least resistance:
send it back immediately, unrepaired, with a refund and apology.
Your 8 track unit will be repaired by a professional electronics technician who is
trained and disciplined to work within ISO 9001, AS9100, MIL SPEC and FAA guidelines.
It is because of this commitment to quality and long term reliability that we are able to
place a LIFETIME WARRANTY on the work we perform on decades-old machines.
If our lifetime warranty is not worth waiting for, we are not the shop for you !

| Unless recently overhauled, ALL 8 TRACK TAPES REQUIRE A NEW FOIL SPLICE AND PRESSURE PAD to deliver optimum sound and prevent damage to your newly-repaired machine. The type of damage a faulty tape causes is NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY, as it is the fault of the tape, not the player. The best place to send your tapes is HERE |
