Repairs guaranteed for LIFE!  ILLUSTRATED do-it-yourself kits!
Sorry, I can only do business under these conditions:
1.  I'M NOT A PARTS SUPPLY HOUSE OR A FREE TECHNICAL ADVISOR!  It takes considerable time, money
and effort to repair vintage audio equipment.  Hours of research to find the right belt (since the original
size has been out of production for decades), and hours of work and TLC to nurse a 40 year old Delco
back to factory performance.  I cannot give out my experience for free, sorry!  My time is worth money.

If you're an existing customer who has already paid to have me repair your machine, I do provide a
reasonable amount of tech support after the sale.  Also, I make step-by-step repair kits for many of the
more popular machines which include a new belt.  This is the only way to get a new belt from me.

2.  Please pack your item well, as I charge extra to repair shipping damage.  With proper packing, you'll
never need to file an insurance claim.  I use the box-in-a-box packing method, with padding between
the inner and outer boxes.  HINT:  Many carriers DROP the packages onto concrete from waist level.

3.  Please include return shipping address, phone number and e-mail address.  This information can be
in three places:  On the outside of the package, on the unit itself AND in a separate envelope inside
the package.  At the very least, please tape your contact info to the bottom of the unit itself.

4.  Ship your item to:

5.  BE PATIENT!  A typical repair job on a high-end unit generally goes like this:  I perform all needed
repairs, adjust the machine perfectly, then operate it for several days to ensure long-term reliability.
In the first two hours, another problem will occur (motor changes speed, etc.) requiring me to take
the machine apart for another repair.  After another 3 hours in operation, yet ANOTHER problem will
surface.  This stuff is 30 to 40 years old, and it is not uncommon for a machine to work flawlessly for
3 days, and then crap out AGAIN.  You can't rush my quality, and I am the
BEST IN THE BUSINESS for a
very good reason - it doesn't leave my shop until it is consistently PERFECT and can be guaranteed
for, amazingly, ONE FULL YEAR - THE ENTIRE MACHINE!  The immediate repairs (the reason you sent your
machine to me) are guaranteed for LIFE.
My failure rate is LESS THAN ONCE PER YEAR !!

6.  I regret to say that I DON'T make my phone number available under any circumstances.  It would be
impossible to achieve my level of quality if I were constantly answering the phone.  I accept the fact that
some customers won't want to do business with someone they can't reach on the phone; in fact, this
helps keep business down to a manageable level.  I'm more into quality than quantity, thus my reputation.

7.  My business is done strictly over the Internet and through shipping services; I don't have a walk-in
shop or accept walk-in trade.   Most of my free time is spent on research and other things that cannot
be interrupted.  Even if you happen to be in the area, sorry - I don't want anyone knocking at my door!

8.  Typical turnaround time is one month, BUT - in the case of an old Delco, their repeat breakdowns after
repairs can in some cases mean a TWO month turnaround.  If you are having your classic car restored at a
shop that charges weekly storage fees, you'll want to send off your old Delco as soon as possible to
avoid the possibility of your car sitting there racking up storage fees while your 8 track machine is being
nursed through its multiple breakdowns after the initial repairs.  PLEASE PLAN ON 2 MONTHS FOR DELCO.

9.  In some rare cases, your Delco will break down again and require more work AFTER I've written you to let
you know it's fixed, and after you've sent payment.  There is no extra charge for this additional work, but
please know in advance that there could possibly be another 2 week delay after payment is sent.  I'm
sure you'll agree that it's better to keep it and make sure it's perfect before finally sending it back to you.

10.  Please allow one full month to ask the status of your unit - I will know something definite then.

Please keep in mind that your machine is at least 30 years old, and will take
considerable time and work to bring back to factory performance.  You may find
faster service elsewhere, but you will likely be displeased with the results and
long term reliability.  My typical turnaround time on car units is one to two months,
thus, my failure rate is so low as to be practically nonexistent. Your machine will be
tested in every possible way for an average of 2 weeks after repairs, by a technician
who repairs high-end Avionics by day at a licensed FAA repair station.  Quality takes
time.  If you're the type who will start pressuring or hounding me 2 weeks after
sending your unit, PLEASE do not send it to me in the first place.  This shop is
known for old-school quality, and I do not compromise for the sake of speed!
