How to go about sending your unit in for repair
BARRY'S 8 TRACK REPAIR
1. Look up the price to repair your general type of unit - see "PRICES" tab above, then click the "back" button on your browser to return to this page. If in doubt, please E-mail a picture of the unit to BarryMusicTeach@aol.com 2. Please do not send payment with your unit. If you are restoring a classic and timing is critical, a check number and tracking number will suffice for me to return your unit quickly. 3. Select a suitable box, which should allow for at least 4 inches of packing material on all sides, top and bottom. Be especially careful protecting the front panel and controls. The "PACKING" tab above is the safest way to pack car units, and you can never go wrong using the box-in-a-box method, with padding between the boxes. 4. DO NOT jam the unit into a flat rate box to save money! These boxes are not large enough to provide proper protection. Our policy is to return units with shipping damage unrepaired, and the customer must pay return shipping charges PLUS a $30 fee. If reasonable care has been exercised, this fee will not apply. However, obvious carelessness has been evident many times. Step 3 above should be followed as closely as possible, as most bent or broken controls are no longer available. 5. Select suitable packing material. DO NOT USE AIR PILLOWS OR WHITE STYROFOAM PEANUTS! Peanuts must be static-free, and will be green or pink in color. White peanuts can cause future failure of the electronics, which is not covered by warranty. Air pillows frequently are punctured by sharp edges, rendering them useless. 6. PLEASE tape your name, address, E-mail address and phone number to the bottom of your unit. During rush periods, this prevents any confusion or mixing of units. 7. Address the package to: Barry's 8 Track Repair 4783 N. Glenrosa Circle Prescott Valley, AZ 86314 We strongly recommend requiring a signature and confirmation of delivery ! Of course, it's always okay to call or write to confirm receipt of your unit. However, please wait at least four weeks to ask for a status report. In most cases, there is four weeks of work in front of your job and I won't know anything before then. Please rest assured that I WILL contact you when your unit is finished, and "lifetime warranty" means I take my time, perform extensive testing and make sure it's perfect. Please send your unit months in advance of car shows, etc. I do offer expedited service for an extra charge on a per-unit basis, but can never guarantee a certain turnaround time until I'm beating on the bench, jamming to the music of your newly-repaired 8 track machine. If I am unable to meet a promised expedited turnaround, I will refund the extra charge with your unit. Expedited service (guaranteed 2 week turnaround) is available for an extra $75. If we are unable to ship within 2 weeks of arrival, the $75 will be refunded. Questions? Call 928-830-2752 (evenings and weekends only please), or E-mail Barry's 8 Track Repair by clicking HERE
