|The Popularity of My Service
|For anyone who has done business with me in the past - or has spent a lot of time on this website
looking up my credentials, experience or the more than 100 You Tube videos of my work - you know
by now that I make some pretty wild and lofty claims - and I provide PROOF of those claims in the
form of records that cannot be faked. You can't fake a full video showing proper operation of all
functions on a customer's finished unit, and I certainly can't alter information on other websites.
On this page is a collection of search results from SEMrush.com - one of the many third-party sites
that allow anyone to type in the name of any website and see how much traffic that website gets.
SEMrush.com provides daily updates and offers the ability to select whether you want to see the
last 30 days, the last year, the last two years - or the website's entire history since it was created.
I have chosen to use the last two years, from roughly July of 2015 to April of 2017 as a handy
comparison to show consistency, but without confusing the reader by going back farther than that.
NOTE: THE FACT THAT MY WEBSITE IS THE MOST POPULAR IN THE CLASSIC CAR RADIO
REPAIR INDUSTRY DOESN'T MEAN MY SHOP IS BETTER - IT ONLY MEANS MY WEBSITES
RECEIVE MORE TRAFFIC AND MY SERVICE IS MORE POPULAR BASED ON THOSE FIGURES.
MANY OF MY COMPETITORS HAVE ALSO BECOME MY VERY GOOD FRIENDS, LARGELY
THROUGH THE TRADING OF REFERRALS AND OUR MUTUAL DESIRE TO MATCH CUSTOMER'S
PARTICULAR NEEDS TO THE SHOP BEST SUITED TO ACCOMMODATE THOSE NEEDS. IT IS
THANKS TO SOME OF THESE SHOPS THAT I HAVE GOTTEN WHERE I AM TODAY - AND I CAN
SAY WITH CONFIDENCE THAT EVERY SHOP OUT THERE IS A DARN GOOD ONE TO WORK WITH.
One of the main reasons for this page is to partially explain my long turnaround times by showing
that my shop, after more than a decade of hard work and dedication to top notch quality, is now
one of the most popular in the classic car radio industry and is thus constantly extremely busy. On
top of that, I frequently develop solutions not offered by any other shop - for instance, no other
shop provides a video DVD of the customer's unit operating properly on all functions to settle any
uncertainties about my work quality if the customer should hook it up incorrectly upon its return.
No one else offers my special full Delco system conversion, which optimizes the 8 track player to
bring out the treble lost on old, worn tapes when used with a converted radio. No one else goes
to such lengths as to include a new motor AND a new, hand-built speed control board to make the
speed adjustable in case the speed should drift over the years. No one else has designed and
developed my special new tape head preamp to greatly enhance the fidelity of an 8 track player.
Now, back to how the popularity of my service compares to that of most other shops. You are
looking at a two-year history of the website traffic my service receives compared to most others.
If any shops want to me to remove their entries on this page, I will be happy to do that - just ask.
Again, you guys are all my good friends and I'm not trying to promote my service at your expense.
|Note that the three websites below are all MY sites, with Barry's 8 Track Repair shown again. To arrive
at the total amount of website traffic my service receives, add the results of ALL THREE websites below:
|Popularity of My Service
|Quite the contrary, I owe a special debt of gratitude to the following shops who have gone out of their way to help
Barry's 8 Track Repair achieve prominence in the industry through mutual referrals: Ward's Classic Car Radio
Repair, Bob's Radio, Tayman Electrical, Vintage Auto Sound, Joe's Classic Car Radio, SM Electro Tech and
Aurora Design FM conversion products. I would not be where I am without the help of these fine companies !
Note that these charts are not drawn to the same scale - observe the numbers on the left of each chart for the shop's true position.
Not included are shops who also provide other services such as car restoration, instrument cluster restoration, sales of speakers,
reproduction radios, tires, upholstery, engine parts, etc. These wider-ranging services, many of whom have many employees, will
obviously have more business - but are not shops dedicated to repair and conversion of classic car radios and 8 track players and
thus any comparisons to these companies would not be accurate. Additionally, many of these types of services will advertise and
accept classic car radio related jobs, but then farm out the actual work to shops such as mine - I have many clients of this nature.
Thus - for true, accurate and fair comparison, only shops DEDICATED to classic car radio repair and conversion are shown below.
